I love languages. My native language is Spanish, and I speak English, French and some Italian. Speaking languages has been a fascinating learning experience for me. I have been able to travel and communicate with people in their own language, and to discover new cultures and enjoy them as a local, rather than a tourist. I have been amazed by a diversity of dialects and regionalisms in different countries. I have had the opportunity to sit down and talk to local people and learn about their ways of living and traditions.
I have chosen a career in translation and interpreting because I can put my passion for communication to work. I enjoy the challenge of conveying the meaning of words from one language to another, or localizing marketing materials so they are culturally appropriate for any given culture, or using my voice to help someone to communicate in court.
The experience and knowledge acquired for so many years, as well as the long-term relationships established with so many good clients, have been a very rewarding experience. I am certain I have chosen the right career. Translation and interpreting are not just a business for me but my passion for communication put at the service of others.
